
H2Know - Central Coast Stage 5 STEM Day
We’re excited to invite your Stage 5 Science students to a hands-on, curriculum-aligned STEM Day on Tuesday, 23rd September. This immersive experience is tailored for HPG and STEM-accelerated classes, offering students the opportunity to rotate through interactive stations—each designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of water, sustainability, and environmental science.
The Central Coast Stage 5 STEM Day is a vibrant celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, with a special focus on Water and Science. Students will engage with real-world challenges, explore innovative solutions, and connect classroom learning to environmental action.
Station Highlights:
- Create a Water Reservoir & Pipeline – Central Coast Council Water & Sewer
- Biodiversity Garden & Water Bugs – Central Coast Council
- Environmental Science Activity – Rumbalara Environmental Education Centre
- Drone Piloting & VR Engineering – GHD Engineering
- Water Quality Monitoring Lab Skills – University of Newcastle
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to apply scientific thinking in real-world contexts, interact with industry professionals, and explore future career pathways.
When: Tuesday 23rd September 2025.
Where: Central Coast Ourimbah Campus, The University of Newcastle: 10 Chittaway Road Ourimbah.
Time: 9am - 2pm.
Who: Stage 5 students from Central Coast schools (recommended for HPG or STEM-accelerated classes).
Limited Places: As this is our first year running the program, places are limited to ensure a high-quality experience. Each school may register up to 30 students, with a maximum of 5 schools participating.
